Here you will stay in an extremely cosy villa with walking distance to a small village

Lovely and cozy villa, with a fantastic view over valleys and hills
Lovely and cozy villa, with a fantastic view over valleys and hills

Located along the winding road high above the town of Montecatini Terme, you will find Villa Rodolfo, accommodating 8–10* guests in 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

One of the villa’s previous owners was former professional cyclist Rolf Sørensen, who, together with his family, renovated the property and equipped it with everything needed – and a little extra – to create a wonderful holiday experience in this part of Tuscany. The current owner is also Danish and continues to add new details and improvements to the house, always with a focus on authentic Tuscan style.

Upon arrival at the villa, you are welcomed by the entrance gate leading into the property. From here, a narrow road winds its way through the olive grove up to the villa, where parking is available. Next to the villa (while still offering complete privacy), the discreet caretakers live nearby. They take care of the garden and pool and are always available if you need assistance or local advice. They can also prepare a meal for you if you would like an easy and relaxing dinner one evening.

The Villa's Outdoor Areas

Outside, you are welcomed by a beautiful and well-maintained garden with a lawn and a large covered terrace, where you can enjoy the peaceful surroundings and wonderful meals prepared with local ingredients. The terrace is furnished with beautiful details and comfortable outdoor furniture.

At the end of the house, you will find the swimming pool (11 x 5 m, depth 1–3.5 m), which may easily become the centre of your holiday. Not only does it feature comfortable steps into the water, allowing even the youngest guests to sit and play safely, and not only does it offer a refreshing escape on warm summer days – it also provides an incredible setting where you can enjoy the spectacular views across the town, the valley and the surrounding green landscape.

Around the pool, sun loungers invite you to relax and soak up the sunshine. The pool area also includes a shower, washbasin and toilet, as well as a covered lounge area where you can enjoy some welcome shade.

The Villa Interior

The villa is arranged over three floors. On the ground floor, you will find the kitchen with dining area and direct access to the garden. There is also a separate dining room, an office and a spacious living room with sofas, fireplace and access to the covered terrace.

The interior is a beautiful blend of Italian charm and Scandinavian design, subtly reflecting the fact that the villa is owned by Danish hosts.

A stone staircase leads to the first floor, where the four bedrooms are located. One bedroom features a large double bed and a private bathroom. The second bedroom also has a double bed and a private balcony overlooking the swimming pool.

The third bedroom offers two single beds, which can either be used separately or combined into a double bed. The final bedroom is slightly smaller and features a double bunk bed (140 x 200 cm), accommodating 3–4 guests (recommended for children up to 12 years old).

On this floor, there is also an additional bathroom with shower and a private locked room reserved for the owners.

The basement is where you will find the table tennis table. The remaining part of the basement is reserved for the owners.

The villa has its own supply of thermal water, which is suitable for drinking.

The Surrounding Area

You will be staying only 4 km from Montecatini Terme, a town offering much more than shops, supermarkets and restaurants. The town is also famous as a spa destination, home to historic thermal baths that are known throughout Italy as places of wellness, relaxation and pure indulgence.

A pleasant 20–30 minute walk takes you to Montecatini Alto, following marked paths that allow you to avoid the roads. This charming hilltop village, with its excellent restaurants and cafés, is a popular destination for visitors to Montecatini Terme. A historic funicular railway connects Montecatini Terme in the valley with Montecatini Alto on the hilltop, making the journey itself a memorable experience.

At Montecatini Terme’s main train station, you will find the Conad supermarket, offering a large selection from the butcher, bakery, delicatessen counter and many prepared dishes (which are very different from the ready-made meals familiar from Denmark). There is also a bakery and takeaway pizza restaurant approximately 4 minutes by car from Villa Rodolfo. The Ipercoop supermarket is around an 8-minute drive away and offers an extensive selection. A fresh fruit and vegetable market is held in Montecatini three days a week.

The owners of Villa Rodolfo produce their own olive oil, which you are welcome to taste during your stay at the villa.

In addition to being close to Montecatini Terme, the villa is ideally located for exploring many beautiful Tuscan towns. Within comfortable driving distance, you can visit Pistoia, Florence, Lucca, Pisa and Empoli, each offering its own unique atmosphere and attractions.

The area also provides plenty of activities for all ages, including golf, tennis, walking, hiking and cycling through the surrounding hills. Near Lucca, you can visit adventure parks such as Parco Pinocchio and Parco Avventura il Gigante, offering activities including ziplining across valleys and rivers, paddleboarding and climbing.

There are countless opportunities to enjoy unforgettable experiences during your stay at Villa Rodolfo.
