Tuscan charm close to the sea

Villa Il Castagno has space for 8–11 people with 3 bedrooms.

The villa is located on a hilltop surrounded by a chestnut forest in Valcanina, set within a natural garden of approximately 2,000 m².

The house is situated high up – 500 metres above sea level – and in a very convenient location, only 800 metres from the village of Sassetta. Here you will find a small grocery shop selling local products. The village also offers three restaurants, one of which provides takeaway service, allowing you to enjoy delicious meals on your own beautiful terrace.

Approximately 100 metres further up the road, there is a lovely restaurant serving typical Tuscan cuisine, which is definitely worth a visit. Here you can enjoy a traditional Tuscan dinner with local meat dishes and pizzas.

Otherwise, you are only around 12 km from a larger supermarket and, not least, the sea with its sandy beaches.

In addition to the many beaches in the surrounding area, guests at the villa are also welcome to use the owners’ private beach at the northern end of Marina di Castagneto. This is a unique piece of nature with wild beach vegetation, plenty of sand and crystal-clear water.

The surroundings of the villa

Here, surrounded by the shade of tall trees and with beautiful views stretching towards the horizon, you can enjoy a wonderful and peaceful holiday.

The villa is in excellent condition, and in 2010/2011 it underwent a complete renovation, carried out in full harmony with the original style of the house and, of course, with the charm of Tuscany.

Right outside the villa, you will find the swimming pool, which is shared with La Quercia, a villa consisting of three holiday apartments (also rented by us). The two villas are owned by the same family. The pool is closed in the evening to help keep the water clean.

You will have access to a lovely pool area with chairs and parasols.

From the villa, there are beautiful views towards Pian delle Vigne and across the villages scattered throughout the rolling Tuscan landscape.

The villa has a private covered outdoor lounge area (beautifully made in iron with comfortable white cushions) beneath 100-year-old oak trees, a large barbecue, an outdoor shower and a spacious parking area. The owners have made great efforts to ensure privacy on the terrace.

The villa’s interior

The house, with sleeping capacity for 8–11 guests, measures 160 m². It consists of a ground floor with a kitchen (including a dishwasher), living room with two double sofa beds, dining area, bathroom (with washing machine) and veranda.

On the first floor, there are three bedrooms, three bathrooms and two terraces offering beautiful views over the surrounding Pian delle Vigne valley. All three bedrooms have double beds plus either a single bed or a sofa bed.

From the ground floor, there is direct access to the garden, barbecue area and the large garden pavilion.
