The surroundings you will live in

Villa Il Casone (250 m2) is located in an open countryside area a few minutes' drive from Cortona. Here, amidst the large garden - surrounded by green olive trees and rose hedges - lies this old farmhouse, which has been restored and converted into 4 comfortable yet very simple apartments. The entire villa is adorned with characteristic azure blue window shutters and exudes a welcoming atmosphere. In keeping with Tuscan tradition, all apartments feature terracotta tile floors and exposed beams. From the villa, there are views of Cortona and Valdichiana.

In the large well-kept garden, there is a swimming pool (10 x 5 m) for the private use of guests staying at the villa.

The property also includes private covered parking, washing machine, barbecue, and wood oven. Il Casone is an excellent choice for those seeking peace and relaxation yet still close to the main cities in central Tuscany.

Interior of the villa

The villa consists of 7 double bedrooms accommodating 14 guests, with the possibility of an additional 8 sleeping places on sofa beds, a large kitchen (including stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine), dining room, and living room. There are 7 bathrooms with showers. As the villa can be used as 4 separate apartments, there are a total of 4 kitchens. The largest kitchen on the ground floor is suitable for cooking for many people.

Other amenities offered by the villa include a covered outdoor area, outdoor lighting, covered parking, satellite TV, mosquito nets, and air conditioning.

It is possible to arrange for a chef to prepare one or more meals if you like to spoil yourselves. 

Experiences in the area

The villa is located approximately 900 m from the nearest small town with a small grocery store and a bar. For larger towns, you would need to drive to Camucia (7 km), where there are restaurants, pizzerias, and large supermarkets. The hilltop and charming Cortona is a perfect destination for afternoon and evening trips, offering a medieval atmosphere in its narrow streets, where you will also find shops and restaurants.

There is a pig farm in the area that, in unfortunate cases (southerly wind), can carry the smell over to Villa Il Casone. Fortunately, this happens rarely.
