Rigone in Chianti is a relaxing winery located in beautiful rural surroundings, surrounded by the family’s own vineyards and olive groves. Despite its peaceful countryside location, it is only 2 km from the village of Montaione, where you will find a few shops, restaurants, pizzerias, bars and a supermarket.

More Than Just a Holiday Resort

The winery has been owned by the family for five generations and is today run by Luigi and Nada, who have restored the property with great respect for its history and created a small, authentic holiday resort in the heart of the Tuscan countryside.

Description of the Accommodation

The three historic buildings on the property contain nine apartments. The buildings date back to the 18th century and were carefully restored in 1998, while still maintaining their historic character. Wooden beam ceilings, fireplaces and other original details contribute to the warm atmosphere of the apartments.

All apartments (from 65–80 m²) are spacious and designed for 4–6 people, with two or three bedrooms. It is possible to add an extra bed for an additional guest in all apartments (in the largest apartments, the single bedroom can be converted into a double bedroom).

The interiors are cosy and comfortable, decorated in typical Tuscan style. Each apartment has its own entrance, private terrace or outdoor area, 32” satellite TV, WiFi and mosquito screens on the windows.

The kitchens are equipped with a dishwasher, filter coffee machine, electric kettle, microwave, new refrigerator with freezer and toaster — there is no oven. All apartments have air conditioning.

Rigone has a panoramic location and is surrounded by rolling hills, olive groves and vineyards.

The Outdoor Area with a Beautiful Pool Area

In the garden, you will find the beautiful swimming pool (20 x 8 m, depth 110–240 cm) with diving board, children’s pool (50 cm deep) and whirlpool. Here, you can enjoy the magnificent views over the Tuscan countryside.

There is a playground, three barbecue areas and a shared washing machine.

At the reception, you can purchase the farm’s own products, such as wine and olive oil. Here you will find either Nada or Tommaso, who are happy to help with recommendations for the area, booking theatre tickets, golf courses or other activities that can make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

Before arrival, you can order some groceries that will be waiting for you in the apartment when you arrive. It is also possible to order fresh bread for delivery the following morning.

Experiences in the Area

The area offers many attractions. Montaione is close by, and you can walk there, with pavement available for most of the way.

There are approximately 55 km to Florence, Siena and Pisa, making this an ideal location for exploring these famous destinations.

Nearby, you will also find many charming medieval towns, including Certaldo, Volterra, San Gimignano and San Miniato.
