Relais L’Antico Convento is a former medieval monastery from the 13th century, once home to Franciscan friars living in quiet contemplation. Today, it has been carefully restored and transformed into 7 charming holiday apartments and a small, independent villa for 4 people.

The setting is truly special. Surrounded by lush greenery and forest, where the silence feels almost tangible and the pace naturally slows down. It is a place where you quickly settle into a different rhythm.

Description of the apartments

The apartments are spread across the original buildings – either on the ground floor or first floor – and have been furnished with great respect for the history of the place.
You will find exposed wooden beams, raw stone walls, and original flooring that was uncovered during the renovation. The thick walls help keep the interiors naturally cool during the warm summer months, so there is no need for air conditioning.

Each apartment has its own character, with small, thoughtful details that add charm and personality.

A unique touch is in the names: the apartments are named after tarot cards that were discovered by the craftsmen during the restoration. Most apartments are bright and offer beautiful views over the valley and surrounding woodland.

Outdoor areas and shared spaces

Some apartments have a private terrace, while others have their own designated outdoor dining area. In addition, there are several inviting corners on the small piazza and in the garden, where you can sit in the shade with a book or enjoy a quiet meal.

There are shared barbecue facilities available, and the atmosphere invites long, simple evenings outdoors.

The swimming pool is located just below the apartments, separated only by a staircase. It measures 13.5 x 5 metres and is 1.5 metres deep. From here, you can enjoy a lovely view over the valley – a place where time tends to slow down.

It is possible to book a cooking class with a professional chef or arrange yoga sessions – both available on request prior to arrival.

The nearest small grocery shop is about 5 km away, while the closest larger town is Umbertide (13 km). Here you will find supermarkets, restaurants, cafés, a weekly market, and everyday conveniences.
Lake Trasimeno is about a 30-minute drive away and well worth a visit. Perugia, located just 23 km from the property, offers a completely different atmosphere with vibrant city life, culture, and shopping opportunities.
