Podere Contignano accommodates 20–21 guests and consists of six guest rooms and two apartments with a total of four additional bedrooms, offering ten bedrooms and eight bathrooms altogether.

Experiences in the Area

Podere Contignano enjoys a spectacular setting surrounded by vineyards and olive groves in the heart of the UNESCO-listed Val d'Orcia. Both Val d'Orcia and Valdichiana are home to countless cultural treasures and some of the most breathtaking landscapes in Tuscany. It is no coincidence that this area has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The enchanting scenery has inspired artists for generations.

The property is located just 500 metres from the small village of Contignano. The area is full of authentic rural charm, waiting to be explored. You will be surrounded by picturesque medieval villages and natural hot springs. We especially recommend visiting Radicofani, where the tower offers stunning panoramic views across Tuscany, and experiencing the famous thermal springs of Bagno Vignoni.

The Outdoor Area

The original stone farmhouse dates back to the 16th century. It was extended at the beginning of the 20th century and again in 1963, and since 1995 it has operated as an agriturismo. The property consists of six guest rooms and two rustic apartments, all featuring beautiful exposed wooden beam ceilings.

Surrounded by magnificent countryside, the estate offers the perfect setting for relaxation while children enjoy the playground or the large swimming pool (6 x 12 metres, 1.5 metres deep).

The Villa and Apartments

On the ground floor of the main house, there is a spacious communal dining room and a fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare meals together. Outside, a lovely terrace provides the opportunity to dine al fresco, while the indoor dining room also offers seating for everyone.

The main house contains six guest rooms, four of which are located on the ground floor. The bright yellow room is tastefully decorated with beautiful fabrics and features a double bed, allowing you to wake up each morning to views of the surrounding greenery. The green room also has a double bed and direct access to a charming pergola situated just in front of the playground. Another room with vaulted ceilings also features a double bed, while the pink room offers a double bed and direct access to the same pergola.

On the first floor, the room named Il Focolare has two single beds and enjoys wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. It is furnished in an authentic Tuscan style. In the cool cellar level, there is a spacious room with a double bed and a sofa bed. All guest rooms have their own private bathroom with a shower.

The apartment Le Persiane, located on the first floor, has been carefully restored in traditional Tuscan style. It has its own entrance via an external stone staircase and a private outdoor dining area. The apartment overlooks the swimming pool and enjoys exceptional views of the surrounding countryside. It features a spacious kitchen, a bright living room with a fireplace, two bedrooms with double beds, and a bathroom with a shower. The apartment also has its own heating system.

The apartment Il Granaio also has its own private entrance via an external stone staircase leading to the first floor of the farmhouse. Measuring 80 m², it accommodates four guests and consists of a spacious kitchen and living area, one bedroom with a double bed, one bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom with a shower, and an outdoor dining area. Tastefully furnished in beautiful rustic Tuscan style, the apartment also includes a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and its own heating. From the apartment's windows, you can enjoy magnificent views across the entire Val d'Orcia.
