Il Pozzo is a super cozy resort, for you who are looking for an authentic resort. Here you live beautifully and quietly in the countryside - and yet only 2 - 3 km from the small town of Subbiano in the peaceful Casentino Valley. IL Pozzo is located high - about 350 meters above sea level and below runs the Arno river. The green landscape is inviting and beautiful, and you live on the doorstep of a large nature park. In Subbiano there are supermarkets and restaurants. Here is also a train station.

Both wine and olive oil are produced here at Il Pozzo, and it is the pride of the family that you of course also get the opportunity to taste and buy at home.

If you holiday here, you will experience a very hospitable host family, where especially Carla Veneri and her mother (and your eminent food mother) set the agenda. The delicious food quickly becomes a central part of your stay, because sometimes a week dishes are served with all sorts of delicacies from the Tuscan cuisine based on good, local ingredients. You must remember to sign up for these evenings, as it is not for everyone - but a service for you as guests. The restaurant is lovely rustic with stone floors and stone walls and an open fireplace that is running during the cold months.

You can also ask to have the wonderful food brought to your own holiday home, if you feel like it, or cook in your own kitchen and maybe use the outdoor grill for the evening meal in the open air. When you choose to cook yourself, you can appropriately take advantage of the opportunity to pick up supplies in the vegetable garden, which generously delivers sun-ripened tomatoes and herbs - and then what else is in season.

Podere Il Pozzo has a history that stretches far back in time and consists of four buildings, in which are furnished 9 comfortable holiday homes, restaurant and olive mill. Il Pozzo is a family project, and you get close to the owners and their everyday life in a relaxing way.

Each holiday apartment has been decorated with care and many of the furniture has lots of soul as they have been used in Carla's family for several generations. It is also decorated with colors that give the whole place a nice, warm atmosphere. The 9 apartments are very different from each other, but all have air conditioning and an open fireplace. Something we know you appreciate is good outdoor areas, and you get that here too - each holiday home has its own area with chairs and table. Around Il Pozzo there are forests, meadows and terraces with olive groves and fruit trees, and some of the apartments are close to the forest and have their own terrace under the trees. It's really cozy.

Behind the holiday homes there is a large swimming pool 9 x 16 m (depth 60 - 250 cm) and there is a small area of ​​4 x 4 m (60 cm deep) for children. If you want to be active, then there is also plenty of opportunity for that. Here is a playground, table tennis, bocce court and many trails that invite to cycling, running and hiking.

Should you feel like exploring the area with the help of a guide, Carla is happy to arrange guided tours on foot, by bike and even on horseback.

Arezzo is only approx. 12 km from Il Pozzo, and if you have not yet visited here, it's time. There is a cozy center with many shops and restaurants, and it exudes history on Piazza Grande in the middle of the city. Around this, the antique market expands when it fills the streets of Arezzo once a month.

When you live in the eastern part of Tuscany, it is obvious to visit Umbria - e.g. jazz festival in Perugia or Assisi, take exciting trips up through the Casentino Valley towards Poppi and the Casentino Natural Park with high mountains and most beautiful nature. You are also not far from Cortona, which is my own favorite city with narrow streets with exciting shops and a nice atmosphere.
