The atmosphere and surroundings

The traditional Tuscan architecture in serene rural settings has always been a beloved destination. When dedicated owners Paola and Carlo moved from the city to the countryside, they immediately converted their farming activities to follow Rudolf Steiner's ideals. The fields and orchards were transitioned to organic farming principles, creating a healthy, vibrant agricultural ecosystem.

Currently, Il Cerreto cultivates 300 hectares of biodynamically certified land. Later, a natural swimming pool was added, along with an organic restaurant called "100%BIO," which doubles as a vegetarian restaurant, and an organic shop, the latest addition.

The natural pool is a new type of pool (7 x 11 m), where water is purified through a special biological filter, often surrounded by stones and plants. This eliminates traditional filtration methods and chemical additives, making the pool visually stunning with flowers like water lilies and other aquatic plants. Adjacent to the main pool is a smaller children's pool.

At the "100%BIO" restaurant, guests can enjoy well-prepared organic vegetarian meals made from the farm's own produce of fruits and vegetables.

In the bio shop, visitors can purchase Il Cerreto's own organically grown vegetables and other products such as pasta, bottled tomato sauce, various grain and legume products, fruits, cheeses, yogurts, honey, sourdough bread, and many other delicious items. You can shop during your stay or stock up before heading back to Denmark.

Description of the apartments

Finally, Il Cerreto has converted two of its fine buildings into accommodations, offering both apartments and rooms. The main buildings are idyllically nestled among cypress and pine trees. There are 7 apartments of various sizes, and Local Living has chosen to rent out the 4 holiday apartments with the best outdoor spaces.

Each apartment is tastefully, simply, and elegantly decorated in classic Tuscan style with terracotta floors and exposed beam ceilings, varying in number of bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, and private garden space or terrace outside.
