Lovely holiday apartments with saltwater pool and many child-friendly and suitable activities

If you are looking for a cosy and relaxing country house in beautiful surroundings, with plenty of facilities and activities for children, then Casale degli Olmi is most likely the perfect choice for you!

Casale degli Olmi is beautifully situated on a small hill overlooking the surrounding area, the River Tiber, and the small town of Umbertide, which is just over 1 km away—approximately a 15-minute walk or a 5-minute bike ride.

The Outdoor Area

The country house consists of five holiday apartments of different sizes (accommodating between 2 and 5 guests), and here you will find everything a child's heart could desire: an indoor play area with games, books and drawing materials, an outdoor playground with swings and a slide, a large lawn to run around on, and a large swimming pool for adults and older children (measuring 6 × 12 metres and between 1.20 and 1.80 metres deep). Part of the pool has a shallow area for small children with a depth of 60 cm. It is also possible to bring water toys into the pool.

The swimming pool is a saltwater pool, perfect for children and adults with sensitive skin. It is cleaned without the use of chlorine, instead using a saltwater filtration system which, in addition to ensuring a high level of hygiene, does not cause red eyes, irritation to sensitive skin, or bleaching of swimwear. The salt concentration is much lower than that of seawater; it is approximately the same as the salt content of a tear.

By the pool area there is also a jacuzzi (not saltwater, but chlorinated), from which you can enjoy fantastic views of the town and the surrounding countryside, especially in the evening.

The Apartments

All five holiday apartments have kitchens with hobs and refrigerators (no oven) as well as dining areas.

All apartments offer free Wi-Fi and TV, and it is possible to borrow additional children's equipment free of charge for use in the apartment, including a baby cot, high chair, night light for the baby's bed, children's toilet seat, and children's tableware.

Apartment Ceraso has its own private terrace outside the entrance, while the other four apartments share a large communal outdoor area with a dining table, chairs and barbecue, where you can enjoy dinner outdoors.

The communal building also features a lounge with a fireplace and a play area for children. Here it is also possible to enjoy a typical Italian breakfast (at an additional cost), consisting of coffee, tea, juice, freshly baked bread, homemade jam and honey, biscuits, and other sweet treats.

Experiences in the Area

If you wish to explore the area around the country house, Casale degli Olmi also provides mountain bikes free of charge for guests. There is also a bicycle with a child seat, two adult cycling helmets, one children's helmet, and several baby carriers that you are welcome to borrow and use during your stay.

In Umbertide you will find several good restaurants and pizzerias, supermarkets, a butcher's shop, a bank, a pharmacy, cafés, and a laundrette if you need to do some washing. There is also a bicycle rental shop where you can rent additional equipment such as helmets and child trailers to attach to the bicycles.

Every Wednesday morning there is a market at Piazza Caduti del Lavoro, where you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables.

Close to the country house there are plenty of activities for children. Just 10 minutes from the property is a small honey producer with a workshop that also makes handmade candles. Here, children can learn where honey comes from and afterwards make their own candle.

Another nearby attraction is a charming farm where you can enjoy a guided tour and get up close to the farm animals (sheep, goats and alpacas). This experience is included in your stay and is completely free of charge.

A little further away from the apartments is a riding school where children aged five and above can ride the school's horses for a small additional fee.

The very welcoming and helpful owner and host, Fabrizio, is completely at your disposal during your holiday, whether you need suggestions for excursions, recommendations for good restaurants, or help arranging children's activities near the apartments.

Fabrizio is also a diving instructor and offers scuba diving lessons in the swimming pool at Casale degli Olmi.
