Casa Carbonaia is beautifully situated high in the peaceful Tuscan hills, close to medieval villages and larger towns such as Montecatini Terme, Florence, and Lucca—areas rich in history, culture, and traditions.

This is a place where you can truly reconnect with nature, while also having plenty of opportunities for an active holiday surrounded by the beautiful Tuscan landscape.

The Apartments

The country estate was originally built at the end of the 14th century and has since been carefully restored. Today, it offers seven comfortable rustic apartments, each featuring modern kitchens and bathrooms. Three of the apartments also have dishwashers.

Outdoor Areas

The estate's swimming pool (7 x 14 metres, depth 1.10–2.50 metres) is surrounded by a beautiful garden and offers wonderful views across the green hills, where charming churches and villas appear scattered throughout the landscape.

Guests have access to a shared barbecue area and a traditional pizza oven, both of which are frequently enjoyed by visitors. The atmosphere is wonderfully rural and relaxing, and if you wish, you can join communal dinners on the lawn under the Tuscan sky.

Experiences in the Area

Casa Carbonaia is the perfect place to immerse yourself in nature. Explore hidden paths through oak and chestnut forests on your own, or join a guided walking tour or a professional mountain bike excursion.

The surrounding area offers many unique experiences, including the opportunity to visit the birthplace of the world-famous Leonardo da Vinci, which you pass on the way to the estate.

A small minimarket with its own bakery is located a few kilometres from the property. Giovanni is always happy to share recommendations for excellent local restaurants and provide valuable tips about the area.

Giovanni's father, Simone, is a professional mountaineer with extensive knowledge of the surrounding countryside. He can help arrange exciting activities such as river rafting and canyoning or suggest beautiful running routes and outdoor adventures.

There are countless activity options available, but everything is completely optional. Casa Carbonaia is equally perfect for relaxing by the pool or setting out to explore the countryside at your own pace.

During the high season, pizza evenings are organised in the garden on most Fridays, creating a wonderful opportunity to enjoy good food and great company.

Practical Information

Fans can be provided in the apartments upon request, as there is no air conditioning except in the Garzetta apartment.

All windows are fitted with mosquito screens, allowing you to keep the windows open at night if you wish.

A shared washing machine is available free of charge for all guests.
