Borgo Collelungo consists of two traditional stone buildings that have been carefully converted into 16 comfortable holiday apartments, furnished in classic Tuscan country style with a fresh, contemporary touch.

Outdoor Areas

The swimming pool is set within the beautiful gardens and is surrounded by sun loungers, making it the perfect place to relax. There is also a separate children's pool (5 x 3 metres, 60 cm deep), while the main swimming pool measures 6 x 12 metres with a depth ranging from 1.20 to 2.40 metres.

The views from the pool are simply breathtaking. Rolling hills and distant mountains stretch as far as the eye can see, while olive trees bordering the pool complete the quintessential Tuscan landscape. It is a view you'll remember long after your holiday has ended.

The property, in its current form, opened in 1996 and has been lovingly maintained ever since by Barbara and her family.

Borgo Collelungo also features a covered communal dining area that can accommodate around 30 guests. This is where the owners occasionally host barbecue evenings, wine tastings, and other social events.

If you'd like an easy start to your day, fresh bread can be ordered from reception for delivery the following morning.

Free Wi-Fi is available in the communal areas. For those looking for a little more activity, there is a children's playground and a table tennis table. Barbara is also happy to help arrange bicycle rental, guided cycling tours, hiking excursions, and cooking classes in nearby Montaione.

Each apartment has its own private outdoor seating area with garden furniture, allowing you to enjoy meals while taking in the beautiful views of the gardens and surrounding countryside.

Mobile air conditioning units are available to rent and must be reserved before arrival. As availability is limited, we recommend requesting one when making your booking, as they are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Local Area

Borgo Collelungo enjoys an elevated position in the hills surrounding Montaione, making it an excellent base for exploring Tuscany's most famous towns and cities. Florence, Siena, Pisa, Volterra, San Gimignano, Certaldo, Vinci, and many other charming villages are all within easy reach for memorable day trips.

Its hilltop location also means the property often benefits from a pleasant breeze, making even the warmest summer days especially comfortable.

Historically, Borgo Collelungo formed part of a small medieval farming village. Because it sits on a long ridge, the settlement became known as Colle Lungo, meaning "long hill." From here, guests enjoy magnificent views across the beautiful Evola Valley.

The property is also well located for excellent dining. There is a restaurant at the nearby Castellare di Tonda resort, approximately 1 km away, while one of the area's finest restaurants, Casa Masi, is just 4.2 km from Borgo Collelungo.

Castellare di Tonda also offers a small grocery shop, restaurant, bicycle rental, wellness facilities, and tennis courts.

The nearest supermarket is located in Montaione, approximately 9.3 km away (around a 13-minute drive).

If you're travelling as a larger group, it is possible to book the entire estate exclusively. In total, Borgo Collelungo offers 53 beds plus accommodation for up to 10 additional guests on extra beds.
