Belmonte is located outside Montaione, in the triangle between San Gimignano, Volterra, and Montaione, in a very scenic part of Chianti. Situated on a hillside, the estate offers breathtaking views of the dramatic landscape stretching towards Volterra and San Gimignano as far as the eye can see.

The property has been in the owners' hands for several generations, ensuring a deep understanding of guests' needs. It’s ideal for active families as well as those who simply want to relax in beautiful surroundings.

The property and pool

The estate spans 200 hectares, offering various opportunities for recreation throughout the grounds. Activities include hiking, horseback riding, and running on marked trails – just a few of the options available.

The pool area is something special, larger than what is typically seen in Tuscany. It tends to be more active compared to other Local Living estates. The views from the pool are spectacular. The pool area includes a jacuzzi and a separate children’s pool.

About the apartments

Belmonte Vacanze offers 29 holiday apartments in four different sizes, each with a garden, balcony, or terrace, located on the ground, first, or second floors. All apartments are spacious, equipped with air conditioning and internet, and decorated in typical Tuscan style. A great effort has been made to ensure each apartment has its own private area, which has largely succeeded. When all 29 apartments are occupied, there is some activity around the property.

Restaurant and food

The estate also has a restaurant offering a set menu. Each evening, the owners prepare two different menus (a traditional Tuscan menu and a simpler, child-friendly option). If you wish to dine at the restaurant, you need to reserve your spot by the day before at the reception.

In the restaurant, the owners prepare dinner, and guests collect their plates from the counter before finding a table. This allows you to enjoy the food, the view, and each other’s company in a relaxed setting. The restaurant exudes a cozy atmosphere, as the owners are directly involved in the kitchen, and the self-service element adds to the charm. The dishes are traditional Tuscan recipes passed down through generations, made with local and primarily organic ingredients.

The owners also offer a breakfast buffet featuring cakes, bread, jam, cheese, eggs, and more. If you prefer to eat in your apartment, you can buy fresh bread by the reception in the morning. 

About 900 meters from Belmonte Vacanze is the village of Iano, which consists of a few houses and a cafe. For more options, Montaione is about 11 km away, where you’ll find restaurants and larger supermarkets.

Plenty of activities

A riding center is located about 1 km from the apartments, where you can rent horses or take lessons, regardless of your experience level. Looking for something different? You can also play tennis on the estate’s tennis court (15 euros per hour), take tennis lessons, join a cooking class, play table tennis, or use the outdoor grills. Additionally, you can rent bikes and explore one of the three mountain bike trails.

In the high season (July and August), stays are limited to Saturday-to-Saturday bookings. Outside of high season, stays of three days or more are available with flexible arrival days.
