The area you will be staying in

Antico Casale di Scansano is located approx. 2.5 km from the town of Scansano, where you will find restaurants, shopping facilities and a pleasant local atmosphere on a manageable scale. Scansano is especially known for the Morellino di Scansano wine, making the area ideal for those of you who would like to combine your holiday with good food and wine experiences.

The beach is approx. 35 km away, so you can easily spend a day by the sea and return to peaceful surroundings at the end of the day.

There are many good excursion opportunities in the area. You can visit the Maremma Nature Park, go to the warm springs at Saturnia Terme with its approx. 37-degree sulphur-rich water, or explore some of the beautiful medieval towns in the area, including Pitigliano, Sovana, Roselle and Montemerano.

The holiday resort’s surroundings

One of the great advantages of Antico Casale di Scansano is that you have access to several facilities, even though you are staying in an apartment. Here you will find a restaurant, bar, pools, a wellness area and the option of breakfast, if you would like to make your holiday a little easier.

The restaurant serves traditional Tuscan food made with local ingredients, accompanied by good wines from the area. It is a place where you can enjoy the Maremma cuisine without having to drive out every evening. Breakfast is also available, and during the summer season there is a pool bar serving snacks, drinks and simple lunches.

If you are travelling outside the high season, we recommend asking us about the current opening hours of the restaurant and pool bar, as these may vary according to the season.

The holiday resort has two outdoor pools. One is a classic rectangular pool measuring 15 x 7.5 metres and 140 cm deep, while the other is a larger pool area of approx. 100 m² with whirlpool, water movement, waterfall and children’s area. Here, there is plenty of opportunity to swim, play and relax with a view of the green landscape around you.

For those of you who would like to combine your holiday with wellness, Antico Casale di Scansano also has a wellness centre. Access to the spa is subject to an additional charge and must be reserved in advance. The spa can be used from the age of 12 and above, and access is generally for a 2-hour session. Here you can enjoy, among other things, an indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna and relaxation in peaceful surroundings. Some facilities may be seasonal.

The apartments at the holiday resort

Local Living has chosen to offer the apartments belonging to Antico Casale di Scansano. The apartments are located in the Borgo degli Ulivi area, approx. 200 metres from the hotel’s main building and reception.

Here, you stay slightly apart from the main area, but still close enough to easily use the resort’s pools, restaurant, bar and other facilities. This gives you a good combination of privacy and comfort.

The apartments are furnished in a typical Tuscan and Maremma-inspired style, with warm materials such as wood, stone and terracotta. They are well suited to couples, families and friends who would like more space and the opportunity to enjoy their holiday at their own pace.

There are apartments for 2–5 people. Some have a private entrance, a small garden or a terrace, where you can sit outside and enjoy your morning coffee, a glass of wine or a quiet moment after the day’s experiences.

You can also order freshly baked bread for breakfast, if you would like to start the day in your apartment without having to go shopping first.

Hotel rooms

At Antico Casale di Scansano there are also hotel rooms, which can be booked through Local Living. The price includes breakfast, and this can be a good solution if some members of your travel group prefer hotel comfort rather than an apartment.
