Charming farmhouse near Cinque Terre

Antico Casale is located in eastern Liguria – a simple and straightforward countryside retreat close to La Spezia and less than a 30-minute train ride to Cinque Terre with its five beautiful villages. You’ll be only 5 km from the sea and within walking distance (along a rather dull road) to the nearest town, the medieval town of Sarzana. Here, you will find restaurants, shops, supermarkets, churches, and castles. In August, the antique fair turns the whole town upside down.

The perfect area for sea, village and mountain experience

Antico Casale is situated in rural surroundings but is close to attractions and beautiful nature, including the Apuan Alps and the Ligurian coast. About 5 km away, you’ll find the beaches of Marinella and Fiumaretta, where you can swim in the Mediterranean from lovely sandy beaches. There are also many charming small towns nearby, perfect for a relaxing excursion.

Antico Casale is an ideal base for activities such as trekking, horse riding, cycling, and sailing. The staff is happy to help arrange activities, and there is an option to rent bikes directly on-site. A bike ride along the coast and through the small villages is one of the most popular ways to explore the area.

Description of the apartments

Here, you’ll stay in a charming countryside property consisting of 15 apartments, each with its own outdoor area with a table and chairs. There are 2 shared terraces with 3-4 terrace areas assigned to the apartments, and additionally, there are 2 more private terraces. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to know in advance which terrace you’ll get, but I believe all are well-suited for enjoying your meals outdoors.

The holiday apartments are spread across two buildings on either side of the main house, where the breakfast restaurant is located. Breakfast is included in the rental price, and you can look forward to a varied buffet, which you can enjoy outdoors on the large terrace when the weather allows.

All apartments are equipped with air conditioning.

Outdoor areas

In the same room and attached terrace where you enjoy breakfast, there is also a café during the day, offering drinks and light meals (during opening hours).

The outdoor areas at Antico Casale are perfect for both relaxation and recreation. There is a large, shared pool (6 x 15 m) with a shallow area for hydromassage at one end, where you can relax and soak up the sun. Around the pool, there are parasols, sun loungers, and deck chairs, inviting you to unwind.

In the garden, you’ll find a large lawn, a playground, a fitness area, a barbecue area, and beautifully designed flower beds, giving the place a cozy and colorful atmosphere.

As a new addition, we also rent out 4 suites on the property. These suites for 2 persons have a private spa on the terrace. Here, you’ll have the ideal conditions for 100% relaxation. Email inge@localliving.dk if you wish to rent one of these unique accommodations.

The owners of Antico Casale, Paolo and his wife, are passionate horse breeders, and it’s clear that their love for horses permeates the place. All the apartments are named after their own horses, and it’s possible to gain insight into their breeding and life on the farm.

There is a train that passes by the property, and you’ll occasionally hear it whizzing by, as is typical along the entire Ligurian coast.

There is also an electric car charging station on-site.
