The area around Valliferone
The location is ideal for exploring some of Tuscany’s most beautiful destinations. From the property, you can easily visit Pisa, Volterra, San Gimignano and Lucca. Florence is approximately a one-hour drive away via the Fi-Pi-Li road (the highway connecting Livorno and Florence).
The area is perfect for hiking and mountain biking, with many marked trails through the countryside. It is also possible to order a private chef or a prepared meal from www.gustil.it, Valliferone’s trusted local partners. The food can be delivered directly to the holiday property.
The nearest town is Crespina, approximately 3 km away, where you will find a bakery, pizzeria, supermarket and a few restaurants. Alternatively, there are larger supermarkets in Ponsacco (7 km) and Pontedera (approximately 12 km). There are restaurants in the surrounding area, although not within walking distance.
The outdoor areas
Agriturismo Valliferone is a peaceful, beautifully maintained holiday property with lovely green areas, a large swimming pool and charming apartments. Everything is centred around the owners’ dedication to making your stay as enjoyable as possible, and they are always available with advice and recommendations.
In the small shop located at the heart of the property, you can discover and taste typical Tuscan products. Here you can buy handmade pasta, soaps, local wines, truffle products and their own extra virgin olive oil. You can also stop by for a freshly brewed coffee.
The swimming pool area, with jacuzzi and a children’s pool (70 cm deep), is beautifully positioned on higher ground with wonderful views over the surrounding landscape. From here, you can enjoy views of distant villages scattered across the hills, surrounded by olive trees, pine trees and vineyards.
At the pool area, you will find a toilet, shower, sun loungers and parasols. You can also find shade beneath the large, characteristic oak tree. The irregularly shaped swimming pool consists of a large pool measuring 16 x 9 metres and a smaller pool measuring 8.5 x 6 metres. The depth is between 1.20 and 1.60 metres.
Between the pool and the main house, there is a lovely playground with play equipment, a boccia court and table tennis.
The property also offers free WiFi throughout, a large shared barbecue area and a washing machine.
The apartments
The charming apartments are located partly with access to the covered terrace and partly around the main house, where each apartment enjoys a little more privacy and its own terrace. Some of the apartments facing the covered terrace are located on the first floor.
The latest major renovation took place in 2005, and all apartments feature exposed wooden beams, beautiful bathrooms and a tasteful Tuscan style. There are many possibilities for combining apartments if you are travelling with a larger group, as connecting doors between apartments can be opened.
