A dear place for nature lovers

Agriturismo Odina is located in eastern Tuscany, in the Valdarno Aretino valley, between Arezzo and Florence. It is a small, beautifully restored country estate in harmony with the landscape and nature. Odina consists of four apartments and one villa, all of a very high standard and with private terraces.

Odina’s history and surroundings

The country estate dates back to the 11th century and was once home to the farmers who worked at the nearby castle, Castello del Coccolo.

Today, Odina consists of a main building, adjoining buildings with the apartments, a church and a wonderful garden. The estate is a delight for the eye and for all the other senses too, which are awakened throughout the property, especially in the large herb garden, which is one of the owners’ great passions.

There is also a large kitchen garden with seasonal vegetables, and you are welcome to help yourselves to the organic produce. You can also explore the herb garden and pick herbs for your evening meal.

The swimming pool, measuring 7 x 15 metres and 150 cm deep, enjoys a fantastic view of the surrounding landscape. From here, you can watch the sun set over the hills below. The estate is located 650 metres above sea level. The final 500 metres leading to the property are on a gravel road.

The owners of Odina have created a country estate where the environment has been considered in every aspect. Organic building materials, bio-architectural methods and renewable energy have been used, and the construction method means that air conditioning is not needed.

At reception, you can buy organic olive oil, wine, honey, jam and flower bulbs. You can also order fresh bread for delivery the following morning, or book a place at their breakfast buffet, which is served outdoors under the pergola during the summer.

Odina specialises in growing irises and roses, and flowers and flower bulbs can be purchased all year round.

What the apartments offer

There is no TV at Odina. This is a place where you come to enjoy the present moment and the surroundings. However, there is free Wi-Fi throughout the property.

There is a shared laundry room. On arrival, there is a welcome package in the apartments with salt, pepper, tea, water, olive oil, toilet paper, tomato sauce, pasta and fresh bread.

A new treehouse has been built, and all apartments have a key to it. Your children are welcome to play there, but they must be accompanied by you as parents.

It is also possible to arrange a small, cosy event in the treehouse, such as breakfast or a romantic dinner.

Odina also offers

The estate is well suited for a dream wedding or another special celebration. The setting is perfect, and in addition to the beautiful surroundings, the owners do everything they can to make the day exactly as you wish – and a little more.

If you book the entire estate, there is room for 24–30 overnight guests.

Activities

Pizza evening with “all you can eat” and barbecue evening. Both events are held once a week during the high season.

Cooking class, where you learn to prepare a three-course Tuscan meal and enjoy the dinner afterwards. This can also be booked before arrival.

Dinners can be arranged at EUR 30–50 per person, depending on the menu.

Massage: all types of massage, indoors and outdoors. Must be booked no later than one week in advance.

Experiences in the area

The estate is less than one hour’s drive from both Arezzo and Florence.

In the surrounding area, you will find small, charming towns such as Loro Ciuffenna, a lovely medieval town with beautiful town walls, narrow streets, a few shops, restaurants and grocery shopping, located 8 km away.

You can also choose to drive to La Ferriera, a country estate just outside Loro Ciuffenna. Here, too, you can enjoy a good meal.

Bicycles are available to borrow, so you can explore the paths around Odina.

During your stay, usually on Tuesdays, a tour of the garden is arranged. Here, you pick herbs for the evening meal, which you help prepare. This activity is free of charge.
