The outdoor area and atmosphere
Back in 2000, La Serra was purchased by its current owners, who began renovating the entire resort. Everything has been refurbished with the environment and the enjoyment of life in mind, while respecting the history of the resort. It has been essential for the owners that the apartments accommodate families comfortably, just like their own homes.
The family also runs a small production of olive oil and wine. La Serra is an active farm where local school children come to learn about nature and animal care. The property hosts its own bees, horses, mules, dogs, and chickens. Some of these animals have been adopted by the owners to help those in need.
La Serra is a family-run agriturismo where everyone pitches in. Umberto, along with his wife Paola, their children Stefano, Stefania, and son-in-law Paolo, ensure that everything runs smoothly, always in line with the spirit and caring atmosphere of the resort. They have created relaxation spots around the buildings and in the woods, adding a little extra charm to Agriturismo La Serra for all who visit.
In addition to the outdoor areas, we must not forget the pool area (16 x 8 meters / up to 2 meters deep), where you can peacefully ease into the water and adjust to the temperature. For those seeking a bit of excitement, there's a waterslide, or you can simply relax on one of the sun loungers under the parasols, enjoying both shade and sunshine. Some sun loungers are placed on tiles surrounded by bushes and trees, while others are on the grass.
Interior of the houses and apartments
All apartments and houses come equipped with a refrigerator with freezer, oven, dishwasher, and TV.
The apartments have their own terraces in front, sometimes covered by a pergola. These terraces are not entirely private.
The two houses each have private outdoor areas; La Carraia is located in front of the swimming pool, while La Casina is about 20 meters away, nestled close to the forest. Despite their privacy, guests in the houses remain close to all the amenities offered by this agriturismo.
Experiences in the area
Staying at La Serra will naturally entice you to explore the neighboring forest. Trails have been laid out throughout the woods, with signs along the way to educate you about the plants and animals.
Although you are in the countryside, where the vegetable garden thrives in high season, olive trees work towards producing this year's "green gold" for autumn harvest, and animals await your visit, you are still close to the beaches of Tirrenia, Cecina, Viareggio, and Forte dei Marmi.
If you prefer city excursions or strolling through ancient medieval towns, Pisa, Volterra, Lucca, Florence, and charming San Gimignano are all within a short drive from Agriturismo La Serra.
You are only 3 km away from the nearest small town, Cenaia, where you can find shopping and a few restaurants.
The owners can also help arrange horseback riding in the area; about 10 minutes away is a farm with horses offering a unique Tuscany experience. They can also assist with bicycle rentals, spa visits at Terme di Casciana, golf at Cosmpolitan Golf Club, or pasta-making classes at one of Tuscany's factories, where you can learn some culinary secrets.
