Unique, appealing villa with very high level of service

Villa Vetrichina has room for 12 - 14 persons, divided into 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.

I have rarely entered a villa in Tuscany where I feel so quickly at home. Here you find an unusual warmth in the decoration of all rooms, and it is quite clear that there is a special passion here for finding the right interior, which is handpicked around at antique fairs and from local craftsmen.

The villa is located a short distance (1,8 km) above the cozy medieval town, San Casciano dei Bagni, and there is a short dirt road through the oak forest, after which the villa with its own pool is beautifully located in a clearing in the forest. The area is known for its beauty, and Val d'Orcia is on UNESCO's World Heritage List because of its special beauty - and it is not without reason that the area has inspired many artists over time. We are in southern Tuscany, close to Lazio and Umbria, and there are a number of good excursion destinations from here, e.g. the two lakes, Bolsena and Trasimeno, spa towns and medieval towns. The list is long, and the trip through the countryside alone is also an excursion in itself.

The villa consists of a large, cozy dining room, which is the central focal point, and the kitchen is a direct extension of this. There is access to the terrace with a covered terrace from the dining room. The kitchen is a very special, cozy place with all types of aids, and the pantry will be stocked with the most basic things such as coffee, pasta, oil, bread, wine and vegetables when you arrive. From the kitchen there is access to the terrace.

There is also a small lounge with TV and 2 bedrooms and a bathroom in this part of the house. From the lounge there is a separate outdoor access to a further 4 persons in 2 double rooms each with its own bathroom.

From the ground floor hall there is a staircase up to the first floor, where the large living room with a floating sofa welcomes you. There is also a fireplace and access to a useful covered terrace with tables and chairs. From the living room there is access to 2 beautifully furnished double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom (one with a bathtub).

From the terrace there is a wide stone staircase down to the pool area. The pool is 11 x 6 m and 1.3 - 2 m deep. Around the pool there are sunbeds and umbrellas.

The very discreet and hospitable owner, Patrizia, is the one to take credit for the fine decor, and she lives in an independent house on the other side of the road. She and the skilled chef, Francesco, are available to you who live in the villa. They can cook for you or take cooking school at her home in the cozy dining room that has been made for the purpose.

So if you are looking for a villa out of the ordinary, where you want to be spoiled with extra good food from exquisite ingredients, then this is the place for you.

The prices are incl.

A welcome dinner on the evening of arrival, 2 hours of daily cleaning (except Sunday), internet, outdoor light, water, towels (changed on Wednesdays) and bed linen. Pool towels are changed every 2 days.

Waste soring is an important matter in Italy, and it must be sorted correctly just like in Denmark. If you are unsure how to sort the waste, please ask the owners.

Pool season:

The swimming pool is open in the period May - October.

Paid locally and directly to the owner:

Final cleaning: 300 euros (cash).

Deposit: 1000 euros (refundable on departure).

Air conditioning according to consumption 0.80 euros per kwh (with normal consumption it is 300 - 400 euros per week).

Pool heating: approx. 450 euros per day (May, June and September) approx. 350 euros per day (July and August), must be ordered before arrival and for a minimum of 5 days.

Heating according to consumption: 8 euros per m3 (only used in the cold months.)

Yoga, massage, breakfast, dinners, cooking school, cheese and wine tasting are available on request.

Example dinner 200 euros + costs of raw materials (lower price if more dinners are booked)

Example cooking school 125 euros per person (takes place in the villa)

Breakfast per per day 150 euros + raw material costs.

Extra cleaning: 25 euros per hour (on request).

Extra change of bed linen: 25 euros per person.

Extra change of towels: 20 euros per person.

Pets are allowed: 100 euro (ask in advance)

NB - Tourist tax:

There is a tourist tax, which is a small amount to be paid directly at the country house on arrival. Tourist tax is 1 euro per person per overnight stay.
