Unique, appealing villa with very high level of service

Villa Vetrichina accommodates 12 to 14 guests and has 7 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.

I have rarely stepped into a villa in Tuscany where I have felt at home so quickly. There is an exceptional warmth throughout the interior, and it is clear that there is a special passion for finding just the right pieces. Much of the interior has been carefully handpicked at antique fairs and from local craftsmen.

The villa’s outdoor area

From the terrace, a wide stone staircase leads down to the pool area. The swimming pool measures 11 x 6 metres and is 1.3 to 2 metres deep. Sun loungers and parasols are available around the pool.

The very discreet and welcoming owner, Patrizia, is the person behind the villa’s beautiful interior, and she lives in a separate house on the other side of the road. Patrizia and the talented chef Francesco are available to guests staying at the villa. They can prepare meals for you or arrange cooking classes at their home, where they have created a cosy dining room especially for this purpose.

Inside the villa

The villa has a large and inviting dining room, which forms the heart of the house, with the kitchen directly connected to it. From the dining room, there is access to a covered terrace. The kitchen is a particularly charming space equipped with everything you might need, including an ice maker. Upon arrival, the pantry will be stocked with basic essentials such as coffee, pasta, oil, bread, wine and vegetables. The kitchen also has direct access to the terrace.

There is also a small lounge with a TV, as well as 2 bedrooms and a bathroom in this part of the house. From the lounge, a separate outdoor entrance provides access to a further 4 sleeping places in 2 double bedrooms, each with its own bathroom.

A staircase leads from the ground floor to the first floor, where you are welcomed by a spacious living room with a large sofa. Here you will also find a fireplace and access to a lovely covered terrace with tables and chairs. From the living room, there is access to 2 beautifully furnished double bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom, one of which has a bathtub. In addition to a Smart TV, you will also find a PS4 and a Bluetooth party speaker.

Experiences in the area

The villa is situated just above the charming medieval town of San Casciano dei Bagni. A short gravel road leads through an oak forest before you reach the villa, which is beautifully situated in a clearing and has its own private swimming pool.

The area is renowned for its beauty, and Val d’Orcia is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of its exceptional landscape. It is easy to understand why the area has inspired so many artists over the years.

You are in southern Tuscany, close to both Lazio and Umbria, with plenty of opportunities for day trips. You can visit Lake Bolsena and Lake Trasimeno, explore thermal spa towns and discover beautiful medieval villages. The list is long, and simply driving through the stunning landscape can be an experience in itself.
