The Villa's Surroundings

Surrounded by olive groves in the heart of Tuscany, Villa Poventa was originally built in 1826 as the home of a prosperous local farmer. Over the years, the property has undergone extensive renovations and has been transformed into an elegant holiday villa.

The villa enjoys magnificent views across the Val di Chiana, Monte Amiata and the historic town of Cortona. Its excellent location makes it an ideal base for exploring the area's most famous attractions, including the Cortona Archaeological Park. A minimarket, bar, butcher and pharmacy are all within easy walking distance.

The Villa Interior

The villa is arranged over two floors and accommodates up to 14 guests, making it an ideal choice for families or groups of friends. The property consists of a main villa and a separate annex.

The main villa features a spacious dining room with a large wooden dining table, a library, and an elegant living room with a fireplace, comfortable sofas, ceiling fan and minibar. There is also a second lounge with a pool table, sofas, armchairs, a games table and another fireplace, which opens onto the conservatory.

The bright conservatory offers a dining area, large sliding glass doors and wonderful views of the surrounding countryside. The fully equipped kitchen includes an oven, American-style refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee machine and microwave.

The main villa offers five bedrooms—one with a French double bed and the remaining bedrooms with double beds—and five bathrooms.

The annex features a marble kitchen equipped with a hob, oven, refrigerator and dishwasher, along with two double bedrooms and two bathrooms. It also includes a wood-burning stove, a utility sink and a barbecue. A separate laundry room is equipped with a washing machine, sink, iron and ironing board.

The Villa's Outdoor Areas

Outside, the villa is surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens and an olive grove with around 100 olive trees. The swimming pool (12 x 6 m, depth 1.20–2.50 m) is equipped with an outdoor shower with both hot and cold water, as well as sun loungers for relaxing in the Tuscan sunshine.

The garden also features a pergola with a large travertine dining table, offering spectacular views towards Cortona. Whether you prefer to relax in the shade while enjoying the scenery or stay active during your holiday, there is plenty to enjoy. Guests have access to table tennis, pétanque, billiards, a chess table, and three bicycles for exploring the surrounding countryside.

The property is particularly well suited to families with children, who will enjoy the trampoline, fountain, slide and swing set.

The entire estate is fully fenced, and covered parking is available on the property.
