Authentic holiday property with history, nature, and care
Atmosphere of the property
Tuvo has been owned by the Galli family since the mid 20th century, and it was previously run by local farmers who used the land to grow wine, olives, and vegetables.
Today, the property has been renovated with great respect for its history, preserving original features such as ovens, millstones, presses, fireplaces and more, in order to maintain the historic charm of Tuvo.
Tuvo Agriturismo is still an active farm, where working the land plays an important role for the owners. They grow fruit, vegetables, and flowers, so depending on the season, the surroundings can be filled with beautiful colours or small buds just about to bloom. As a guest, you are welcome to walk through the fields and among the olive trees to enjoy the setting. The vegetables and herbs grown in the garden are processed in collaboration with the social cooperative Cascina Nibai, which works with inclusion and employs young people with special needs. Among other things, this is where the homemade jams are produced.
From July 2026 there will also be a swimmingpool at Tuvo Agriturismo.
Breakfast – the most important meal of the day
When you stay at Tuvo Agriturismo, breakfast is included in the price, and it is something you can truly look forward to. It is a breakfast I have personally had the pleasure of experiencing. The buffet offers both sweet and savoury options such as homemade tarts, cakes, jams, honey, fresh bread, cheeses, cold cuts, eggs, and seasonal vegetables. There is something for every taste.
Breakfast is served in the historic room at Tuvo Agriturismo, which was once the heart of the farm’s olive oil production, and where you can still see the original millstone and olive press. The space has been renovated with a blend of old and rustic elements and modern touches, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. On sunny days, you can sit outside on the covered terrace, where the view almost makes you forget to go back inside for another serving.
The apartments
Tuvo Agriturismo has 6 apartments and 1 suite, accommodating from 2 to 6 people, with a total capacity of up to 27 guests when all units are occupied.
All apartments include a kitchen equipped with a fridge, freezer, hob, oven, and Nespresso machine. Some apartments also have a dishwasher, which is specified in each individual description. In addition, all apartments have either a terrace or a garden, where you can enjoy the beautiful views over the valley. The Suite Macina does not have a kitchen.
Please note that not all apartments have air conditioning, but this is specified for each unit. If you are unsure, you are always welcome to ask us for advice.
Experiences at Tuvo Agriturismo
When staying at Tuvo Agriturismo, you can enjoy much more than just beautiful surroundings. The owners also offer flower experiences, cooking classes, and the opportunity to take part in the olive harvest.
In 2022, the owners created different flower fields where a wide variety of flowers are grown throughout the seasons. Among the flowers you will find are iris, peonies, dahlias, anemones, lilies, hydrangeas, calla, cosmos, snapdragons, and many more. You can explore the seasonal flowers by joining the flower experience from June, where you will walk through the fields, pick flowers, learn about the different varieties, and create your own beautiful bouquet. If you prefer, it is also possible to simply purchase flowers or seeds to take home.
If you are more interested in cooking, you can join a cooking class where you learn to prepare local dishes step by step, with a focus on ingredients and traditional techniques. When the weather allows, much of the experience takes place outdoors in a relaxed setting, and it ends with enjoying the meal you have prepared together.
If you visit during the harvest season, you can take part in picking olives and gain insight into the local traditions. You will learn about the entire process, from harvesting the fruit to pressing it into oil, and you will have the opportunity to taste the property’s own extra virgin olive oil. The olive harvest typically takes place in October. All the activities offered by Tuvo Agriturismo are for 6 to 10 people, so if you are two traveling together, it’s possible that some of the other guests at the property would like to join the same experiences as you.
Experiences in the area
When staying at Tuvo Agriturismo, you are in Liguria, a narrow coastal region in northwestern Italy. The region is known for its fantastic landscape between mountains and sea. Liguria is also famous for its cuisine, which focuses on fresh ingredients, fish and seafood, as well as specialties such as pesto, focaccia, and olive oil.
Tuvo is located high on the hillside just outside Levanto, which is about a 5 minute drive from the property. Here you will find a beach, charming cafés, restaurants, and good shopping options with supermarkets and specialty shops. It is also from Levanto that the train runs directly to Cinque Terre.
Cinque Terre is one of Italy’s most iconic areas and consists of five small colourful coastal villages: Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The villages are set along the cliffs by the sea and are known for their narrow streets, local restaurants, and unique views. It is possible to walk between the villages, but you can also take the train. During the summer months, Cinque Terre is quite busy as it is a very popular destination, but in spring and autumn the temperatures are more comfortable for walking, and the crowds are significantly smaller.
The area around Tuvo and Levanto is perfect for hiking and cycling. As mentioned, there are trails along the coast between the villages of Cinque Terre, but inland you will also find beautiful routes through vineyards, olive groves, and small villages. The nearest restaurants are in Levanto, where you will find a good selection ranging from simple trattorias to more traditional Italian restaurants.
Tuvo Agriturismo is the perfect holiday destination for those who want to relax, enjoy great food, and explore Liguria.
