Description of the resort

Riserva di Fizzano is a charming and historic village dating back to the year 1007, situated on a hilltop in the picturesque Chianti Classico area between Florence and Siena. The resort is owned by the Zingarelli family and operated by the Rocca delle Macie winery.

The village has been carefully restored and now houses 19 beautifully furnished apartments that combine authentic details such as terracotta tiles, exposed wooden beams, and open fireplaces with modern comforts like air conditioning and comfortable furniture. Each apartment has its own unique character, offering a stay that is both historic and comfortable. There are also communal outdoor areas with beautiful views of the vineyards. At Local Living, however, we have chosen to rent out only 6 of the apartments—specifically, those with their own garden or terrace.

Breakfast is included in all accommodations, and you can look forward to enjoying it with an accompanying view.

Outdoor areas, pool, and activities

Riserva di Fizzano offers a wealth of outdoor facilities, allowing you to enjoy the Tuscan landscape. The large swimming pool with a separate children’s pool is a perfect place to relax while taking in views of the rolling vineyards and surrounding hills. In the beautiful, green areas around the resort, there is ample opportunity for long walks or bike rides, where you can experience the magnificent nature up close.

For those seeking a bit of extra activity, Riserva di Fizzano offers mountain biking excursions and hikes in the hilly landscape. There is also the option to book relaxing massages or yoga and Pilates sessions. In the evening, you can enjoy dinner at the estate’s restaurant, which serves classic Tuscan dishes made with local ingredients. And, of course, the winery’s own wine from Rocca delle Macie will be on the menu, so you can end the day with a good meal and a glass of wine on the terrace with views over the vineyards.
