Podere Maria Lena is a lovely countryside estate located in Chitignano, in the heart of the magnificent Casentinesi forests. Here, you will experience an authentic Tuscan getaway with peace, tranquility, and a breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape. The villa is surrounded by a beautiful olive grove on one hectare of land, creating an atmosphere of total relaxation and closeness to nature.

Description of the villa

The villa is spread over 2 floors with direct access to the garden on the ground floor. Upon entering the house, you are greeted by a bright, fully equipped kitchen (including a dishwasher, oven, and coffee machine), ideal for preparing meals with local ingredients, a typical dining room with an ancient fireplace, a guest toilet, and a large and cozy living room, which offers direct access to the covered terrace with comfortable outdoor furniture and a view of the mountains.

On the first floor, you'll find the sleeping area with three large and comfortable bedrooms, a spacious living room, and a large bathroom.

The entire house is decorated in light colors combined with dark wood, beautiful stone walls, and exposed ceiling beams, creating an atmosphere that will make you feel at home in no time.

Outdoor area with private pool

The villa's outdoor area is designed for pure enjoyment. You have your own newly built swimming pool (8 x 4 m - depth 140 cm) and a large garden with a lawn, plants, and pots, where you can relax in the shade of the olive trees or enjoy a dinner under the open sky. Wherever you are on the property, you will be greeted by a beautiful view of the mountains, hills, and valleys. The villa is located at an altitude of about 700 meters, which gives this stunning view and a lovely breeze.

As guests of this villa, you can also enjoy the owners' vegetable garden with seasonal vegetables.

The owner, Giulio, lives nearby and is available if you need any assistance or local tips for experiences in the area. Giulio is half Danish and half Italian – truly a fantastic combination 😘

The area you are staying in

From the villa, it is only 1 km to Chitignano, which is a small village with a couple of restaurants and pizzerias. The road there goes slightly uphill, but the walk can be managed on foot. In the opposite direction of the road where Podere Maria Lena is located, there are hiking trails and a spring with fresh, thermal water.

Podere Maria Lena is situated in an area that is not widely known among tourists, as it may seem a bit off the beaten track. However, in reality, the villa is only 30 km from Arezzo, 70 km from Florence, and 90 km from Siena, making it easy to explore some of Tuscany's most iconic cities. At the same time, the villa is ideal for nature lovers, as the area offers exceptional excursions to Poppi (16 km) and its medieval castle, the charming historic town of Bibbiena (12 km), the spiritual monasteries of Camaldoli (26 km) and La Verna (14 km), and the Casentinesi Forest National Park, which is a paradise for hikers and nature enthusiasts.
