For kids in Tuscany<\/h1>\n

When you chose to bring your kids to Tuscany, it is most likely to be together with them and enjoy yourselves with a game of cards, a book, a good water fight or something\u00a0along those lines.<\/p>\n

But there are possibilities to go to exciting destinations in both small cities or at one of the weekly markets. There are many children families that enjoy their authentic and true holiday experiences in a nice and quiet pace.<\/p>\n

If your children want\u00a0(and you too..) to go to a water park, then the selection is actually quite limited. Along the coast line there are wonderful beaches with many different sports activities..<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

We know of a lovely water park near Sienna along with two large water parks in Cecina and Follonica, which is on the west coast.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Quercegrossa<\/strong><\/p>\n

There\u00a0is a beautiful pool park for all ages – Mulino di Quercegrossa, which lies just north of Sienna. It is a nature park with 7 swimming pools that are in conjunction with each other. There is a 150 m long stream where you can swim against the stream or have a nice walk in the shallow water. There is a lake, a kids park,\u00a0a whirlpool, a large central pool and a round, deep (4 m) pool with diving possibilities.<\/p>\n

Price from Monday to Friday is 10 Euro for the whole day, and from 3 p.m.. the price is approx. 7 Euro. Saturdays approx. 12 Euro for the whole day, and approx. 9 Euro from afternoon. Half price for children accompanying adults. Open from 9 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. every day to the 30th of September.<\/p>\n

Additionally it is also possible to rent bikes at many of our holiday homes, or ask where the nearest bike rental is.<\/p>\n

There are also some very exciting museums, which would definitely excite the most kids. In Vinci Leonardo da Vinci used to live and there is a good meseum – also for kids\u00a0www.museoleonardiano.it<\/a>\u00a0and in Lucca you will\u00a0find\u00a0www.pinocchio.it<\/a><\/p>\n

Activities for children<\/strong><\/p>\n

By the way, it is possible to rent bicycles at many of our country houses or ask at the country house where the nearest bicycle rental is.<\/p>\n

If you want to follow in the footsteps of the Twilight movies, then Volterra is the place. Read more about the city here.<\/a><\/p>\n

Some of the action in the vampire films takes place in Volterra, which is described as the home of the Volturi, the most powerful vampire.<\/p>\n

Zoos and aquariums<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Arezzo, Tuscany<\/strong>
\nPoppi Zoo is a large natural animal park on 50 hectares with over 50 different animal species. This zoo was established in 1973 and is located in the Casentino Valley. The animal park is open every day from 10:00 \u2013 19:00, summer and spring. Other opening times and information can be found on the garden’s own website: www.parcozoopoppi.it<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Pistoia, Tuscany<\/strong>
\nThis zoo has 7 hectares and has more than 400 animals. Here, they care a lot about animal protection, share their knowledge about animals and the different ways to protect animals, while we as humans respect and take care of our planet. They are open Monday – Friday, from 9.30 \u2013 18.00. Saturday to Sunday, from 09.30 \u2013 19.00. Read more about Zoo di Pistoia on their website www.zoodipistoia.it<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Genoa, Liguria<\/strong>
\nAcquario di Genova is almost a small town in Genoa for those of you who love life under the sea. Here you can both learn about wildlife under the surface, maritime museum, get 40 meters up in the air and see Genoa and also experience the tropical forest, with the animals that live by the water, but above sea level.\u00a0 ttps:\/\/www.acquariodigenova.it\/<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Perugia, Umbria<\/strong>
\nCitta della Domenica is a park where you can enjoy nature as well as various animals that live in it. The park is spread over 45 ha and has, among other things, donkeys, owls, squirrels, horses, turkeys and many more species. A Reptile tower has been created here, where you can explore the animals of the past, as well as living reptiles, including snakes and crocodiles.<\/p>\n
