Biking<\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the Italians’\u00a0great passions is cycling. The landscape in Tuscany is fit for both the more tenacious bikers and the more relaxed who just want to experience the beautiful surroundings in a quiet pace.<\/p>\n

The best months for biking is March – June and September – November.<\/p>\n

Families who would like about an hours biking in safe surroundings should visit Lucca. You can bike along the 4 km long city wall, which is wide and completely free of traffic.<\/p>\n

“I bike Italy” daily\u00a0has trips around Florence. (published by Touring Club Italiano who also provide regional biking guides in Italian). The guide can be bought at all larger bookstores in Italy.<\/p>\n

In May, Giro d’Italia is held and this means that many roads are close completely off. It is a true party to experience the Italian’s passion.<\/p>\n

If you wish to rent bikes you can inquire about the possibilities. There are many holiday homes that rent bikes to the guests – usually for a smaller fee. \u00a0If the holiday home cannot provide a bike, they can usually point our the nearest bike rental.<\/p>\n

You can also do it yourself – e.g. there is a good bike rental in Greve in Chianti – Ramuzzi Rent – where you can rent a racing bike for 20 Euros pr day and 7 days for 120 Euro including helmet, water bottle, repair kit and lock. If you wish to get the bike transported to the holiday home and brought back, it can be done for a smaller fee. You need to bring passport and credit cards when picking up bikes. Or why don’t you experience real Italian lifestyle for a day? You can rent a scooter for one day for approx. Euro 30.<\/p>\n

There are the following criteria if you wish to rent a scooter:<\/p>\n

– min. 18 years old.<\/p>\n

– driver’s license<\/p>\n

– credit card<\/p>\n
